Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
Graduates of INCT Program will
1. pursue a successful career as laboratory technicians in chemical laboratories and other related fields;
2. work effectively individually or within teams;
3. communicate effectively through oral, graphical and written discourse;
4. engage in professional development through continuous education and training; and
5. adapt different responsibilities by respecting diversity, professionalism and ethical practices.
Student Outcomes (SOs)
- communicate clearly, concisely and correctly in writing and in person;
- apply a wide variety of mathematical techniques with the degree of accuracy required to solve technical problems appropriate to the discipline
- nteract with others in groups or teams that contribute to the effective working relationships
- apply knowledge of safe working practices, including relevant Occupational Health & Safety Regulations
- obtain and analyze data; prepare reports, plans, specifications, sketches, graphics, drawings, or other technical documentation
- use computer hardware and software necessary to the performance of tasks within the discipline
- apply basic mathematical, physical, and chemical concepts to the performance of assigned tasks
- conduct basic manual and instrumental quantitative analyses and tests accurately using prescribed laboratory procedures
- prepare organic and inorganic compounds using standard synthetic and purification procedures
- perform routine statistical calculations to report the results of analyses and tests
- perform Quality Control procedures
